Probably the same for other classes. Most fights are fairly easy once you learn to utilize all the blocks they have... Warriors/zerk are the most well rounded between easy play and mobility, really nothing to do besides run, attack, random dodge/block/escape as necessary, gets boring. The trouble with thieves for general PvE content is that it's very unforgiving, especially with bosses and champs, as well as large mobs. All these are for open world PvE and spontaneous grouping, not for specific instances like dungeons, raids & fractals of course, their optimal builds have already been determined a long time ago. Things just die too fast for condi to be very effective. One of the if not THE highest solo DPS. I don't kill as fast, I don't sustain as well, but I can always return/help getting to locations that took way too long to get to... this is a GIVING class. In Fractals preferably dps classes (condi engi/ranger/warr/necro or berserk anything) and obviously once again, know what you're doing. Also mobility is better then it seems. Can move the fastest of all classes, lots of burst damage with staff/Fist Flurry, survivability with evades and Invigorating Precision if needed. Ranger is one of the most popular classes in Guild Wars 2, and it’s easy to see why. Power Chronomancer offers a high amount of burst while also dealing high sustained damage. Herald because who doesn't love running around with perma 10-12 might, fury (40% effectiveness!) Each WvW map has asura gates to travel to other WvW maps. Honestly as long as you don't do raids, play whatever you want. Thief.. so I play Mes, Thief, and Guard with their respective elites, and I find that thief feels very aggressive, the true definition of all or nothing. I was also thinking of picking up a Necro/Reaper for this since I hear they go very tanky with great DPS. thats it. Plus you have the greatsword leap to use on a relatively short cool down. Pretty good burst heal but low sustain unless you build around it, Very good sustain (shroud = 2nd health pool), High/mediocre damage with nice group support (quickness/alacrity), Vulnerable to burst when out of evade/immune, Pretty good mobility with insane group support (portal/veil/mass invis). Thiefs because of excellent mobility, like seriously the best, and also can tag mobs easily with shortbow 1 and poison field AOE. It may not be great for group content right now but excellent for open world. Best Class for Solo PVE Play Ranger. 2. Necro is a straight up beast in open content and WvW. Pretty good damage, best group dps support, Good sustain with blocking and other negation, pretty squishy without, Very vulnerable when out of stealth/dodge, Good sustain, pet is a 'get out of jail card' when downed. Elite Skil… its frustrating to die to quickly once you "miss a dodge" lol. It provides a lot of self-sustain and I've been able to solo champs (as Reaper, but baseline Necro should be able to, as well). I find myself doing dailies mostly on my mesmer, and I usually only switch to another class when I want a more specialized playstyle. ele/rev/engi - I am way too lazy to play ele or engi efficiently... revs... are in a sad place right now, they are good at nothing much to me. General content. how come engineer has pretty okay mobility? Necro is pretty awesome at open-world. Reminds me of my Mesmer for jumping puzzles and vistas, etc. 3. It's not impossible, and the feeling of accomplishment alone is arguably worth pursuing, but as a "best general purpose" PvE class, IMO thief is not first place and probably not in top 3 either. 4. If the reaper spec is available, it has one of the highest mobilities with shroud 2. Yep, Guard is slow. After picking up thief i feel just soooo slow playing everything else. For Guild Wars 2 on the PC, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "Best profession with a greatsword? Problem is I do have a level 80 necro but I did not like the play style of reaper/scourge.
